The Wood Café is a diner-style restaurant at 12000 W Washington Boulevard that has parking and some outdoor seating. There is a large organic menu for breakfast/lunch/dinner and you can choose from omelets, burgers, soups, sandwiches and salads. The café also uses local produce where possible – making it popular with locavores. If you are looking for somewhere ‘cool’ then you can’t do better than a delectable pizza at GJelinas at 1429 Abbot Kinney Blvd. So hip that the name of the restaurant is not even displayed but just look out for long-legged lovelies waiting out front because this place is always packed. The food here is sensational. There is a lovely sunny courtyard out the back and the restaurant supports local, organic and sustainable practices wherever possible. The local Whole Foods Market can be found at 225 Lincoln Boulevard. It is one of the largest and most popular stores in Los Angeles with a huge array of organic, vegan and gluten-free foods and plenty of healthy ready-to-eat options. For a more boutique option try Bellissimo Venice, a pint-sized and much-loved convenience store at 68 N Venice Boulevard known for it’s seriously good organic coffee, breakfast burritos, gourmet sandwiches and hand-picked gourmet goodies from around the world. If you want to ‘eat-in’ there are a couple of tables on the sidewalk.
